Development Committee Member

Development Committee Members work with a team to help strengthen donor relationships and the operational funding of the organization. This committee is responsible for maintenance and growth of the annual donor contributions. This committee is a working group made up mostly of members of the Board of Directors with additional members from the community and staff team. The committee meets monthly to check in on progress and set future direction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend and contribute to monthly committee meeting
• Complete outside work as agreed upon, such as calling churches to offer information or helping with the annual phone-a-thon
• Thoroughly review and offer constructive feedback on agency materials such as solicitation letters and annual reports
• As needed help with special projects (such as 30 th year anniversary) or research new ideas to help generate operational funds.

• Attention to detail
• Follow-through
• Serve as an ambassador for the agency in the community
• Ability to work on specific detail orientated projects along with creative brainstorming and visioning
• Understanding of long-term need for operational funding

Organizational Impact:

The Development committee is an essential part of the agency as it fosters future financial stability for the organization. The planning and projects this committee implements have direct financial impact on the current and future budgets. The success of the committee allows staffing and programming to continue and potentially grow.
