SoCal Parrot

Wild Amazon Parrots
Here are a few of the wild rescued parrots we care for every day

SoCal Parrot is a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Jamul; working to rescue, rehabilitate, and care for southern California's wild urban parrot populations.

We are currently seeking reliable, enthusiastic people for weekday Parrot Care shifts. Duties as a Parrot Care volunteer include: sweeping, scrubbing cages, raking, refilling food dishes, washing dishes, hanging enrichment, etc.

Must be willing to spend 2 hours per shift on a weekly basis at our sanctuary in Jamul. Optional 4-hour shift every other week available after training is completed.

This role is perfect for someone who wants to gain more Animal Care/husbandry experience. All training is provided on-site and no previous parrot experience is necessary.

All volunteers must complete orientation before they begin volunteering with us. Orientation is virtual for the remainder of 2021, which means timing and dates are scheduled on an individual basis!
