The Leadership Jefferson County class of 2017 is excited to partner with Foster Elementary School in Arvada to rebuild and replant their school garden. The garden is a great learning tool for students as well as a way to build community. We’ll be helping to re-build and improve upon the previous garden. The school has had a garden in the past and it has fallen into disrepair. It was difficult to maintain over the summer months due to a lack of an irrigation drip system, and the absence of a fence around the garden perimeter made it easy for nearby transient populations and others to remove produce and to vandalize the garden area.

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?

We will be adding irrigation so the garden can be easily maintained over the summer months.
