Mission Statement

The Mount Pleasant Community Arts Center Committee's mission is to promote and increase access to the arts in Mt Pleasant and East of the Cooper of South Carolina.

Description

The Mount Pleasant Community Arts Center Committee (MPCACC) is a 501( C)(3) non-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors.
HISTORY
March - April 2016 - The Mount Pleasant Community Arts Center conducted surveys on the need and support for a community arts center.
August 30, 2017 - The Mount Pleasant Community Arts Center presented When the Muses Join Hands (A panel discussion on the benefits and challenges of the arts organizations and artists working together)
October 18, 2017 - The Mount Pleasant Community Arts Center and the Charleston Regional Alliance for the Arts sponsored a TOMP candidates' forum on the arts.
January 2018 - The Mount Pleasant Community Arts Center began advocated on behalf of local artists for access to the new Lucy Beckham High School Performing Arts Center.
June 2018 - The Mount Pleasant Community Arts Center received Community Investment funding for its Dine & Laugh Program from the Town of Mount Pleasant
October 2018 - The Mount Pleasant Community Arts Center accepted on behalf of the local creative community a Proclamation from Mayor Haynie and the Town Council declaring October, National Arts and humanities Month
December 2018 - The Mount Pleasant Community Arts Center received ATAX funding for its Munchkins Radio Plays from the Town of Mount Pleasant
