The Des Plaines Park District is hosting its annual "Easter Egg-stravaganza" at Prairie Lakes Community Center at 515 E Thacker St in Des Plaines. The event is free for all!
The Des Plaines Friends of the Parks are seeking high school student volunteers to work at our face painting area. Students should have basic artistic ability. Students may earn service hours for their time. Volunteers need to contact Vicepresident@desplainesfriendsoftheparks.org by April 7, 2020.

The Des Plaines Friends of the Parks' mission is to: Promote parks, recreational and cultural activities, and a healthier lifestyle for the citizens of Des Plaines by providing and administering scholarships for residents to participate in a variety of Park District activities.
Description
As a 501 (c)(3) non-profit we:
- Organize events to raise funds for scholarships to support the youth of the Des Plaines Park District
- Support the efforts of the Des Plaines Park District as volunteers at their events
- Stimulate and further public interest in parks and recreation, and the preservation of park and recreational resources
- Educate the citizens of Des Plaines Park District upon the value of quality parks and recreational/conservative services
