ORGANIZATION: Star Legacy Foundation - WI Chapter

Star Legacy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to reducing pregnancy loss and neonatal death and improving care for families who experience such tragedies. We are a community of families, health professionals, researchers, policy makers, and individuals dedicated to helping every pregnancy have a happy ending. Mission Statement - To increase awareness, support research, promote education, and encourage advocacy and family support regarding stillbirth, pregnancy loss, and neonatal death.

We are looking for volunteers in Wisconsin to join us in our Chapter for several leadership roles:

Descriptions:

Chapter Secretary is responsible for keeping minutes of chapter meetings; roster and contact information for chapter leadership, members, and contacts; distributing chapter meeting information, reminders, and agendas. With the Chapter Chair, may be responsible for submitting reports to Star Legacy. Chapter Secretary will also represent the chapter as appropriate.

Chapter Treasurer is responsible for creating, submitting, and monitoring the annual budget requests sent to the SLF Executive Director and Board of Directors. Treasurer will make available reports on current spending and budget position upon request. This individual will also represent the chapter as needed.

Events Chair - this individual is responsible for organizing the chapter's Champion Event(s) with the assistance of the entire chapter leadership. All chapter representatives are expected to contribute to the event(s) with attendance, creation of a team, and encouragement of attendance/donations from contacts as appropriate. The event chair will be the primary contact with the Star Legacy Champions Coordinator and manage the logistics associated with hosting events.

Social Media/Communications Chair - this individual is responsible for creating and maintaining a chapter facebook page within the Star Legacy guidelines. He/she will post information regarding events, chapter activities, news articles, Star Legacy items, and more as appropriate. This person will be responsible for securing approval from the Executive Director before posting any items offering medical advice. Chapter instagram, twitter, or other social media outlets may also be created as deemed appropriate by the chapter. If this role includes communication, he/she will also work with Star Legacy to create the chapter page on the Star Legacy website, articles for the Star Legacy newsletter, press releases to local media in advance of events, and similar activities.

Outreach Chair - This individual is responsible for connecting with and tracking contacts in the community that will want to partner with Star Legacy. Examples may include health professionals, hospitals or health systems, other non-profit organizations with related missions, media connections, and more. Depending on the chapter structure, this person may also be responsible for initial contact with new families in the chapter geography who reach out to Star Legacy and/or the chapter.

Family Support Chair - This individual may serve the role of initial contact with new loss families and/or may be responsible for organizing family support projects of the chapter. Additional detail is available if this person will be overseeing a peer companion program in the area.

Geographic area Chairs - some of the chapters have individuals who are representatives of specific geographic communities of the chapter chatchment area. This person may serve the role of outreach or family support chair for that specific community.
