No matter your skill set, interests, or experience there’s a way you can contribute to Capital Pride. Plus, it’s just plain fun! There’s nothing like working the parade as a route marshall with the best seat in the house, helping behind the scenes at the Festival and Concert, or contributing to a successful event.

And, it’s your chance to give someone the great first Pride experience that you had.

Mission Statement

The Capital Pride Alliance, through its diverse programming and stewardship of GLBT organizations and events, specifically year-round Pride festivities in Washington, DC, will serve to celebrate, motivate, and support our diverse communities in order to grow and protect our legacy for future generations.

Description

Capital Pride, located in Washington, DC, is the non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the LGBTA community and its partners through educational events, entertainment, community outreach, and celebrations of diversity, including the annual Pride Parade and Festival in our Nation’s Capital. Capital Pride is administered by a Board of Directors, managed by a small staff, and supported by a large cadre of volunteers.

More than 300,000 people attend the annual Capital Pride events, including the Parade and Pennsylvania Avenue Festival.

Capital Pride is one of the largest Pride Celebrations in the country and with Washington, DC as the host city, it draws worldwide media attention and attendance.


The annual Pride Week and Celebration in our nation’s Capital has over 30 concentrated events over a two-week period to maximize exposure.


Capital Pride is 365, offering maximum exposure year round at other marquee and partner events.


The capitalpride.org website attracts more than 125,000 visitors during the two weeks of the annual Celebration and another 100,000 throughout the year.


The Capital Pride Facebook page has more than 9,600 likes, our Twitter account has over 4,600 followers, and we have over 6,500 subscribers to the e-newsletter distributed monthly.


The annual Capital Pride Celebration is covered by major print, television, radio and online media outlets from around the world.
