Hospice volunteers spend time with patients who don't have a lot of life left. Volunteers are assigned to patients with end-stage illnesses who live in facilities or private homes. Volunteers socialize with patients, take them for walks, read to them, give care relief and share lives. They can also do clerical work in an office environment or knit comfy blankets. Training and on-going support is provided.
