Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Alzheimer's Association Illinois Chapter

General Summary of Position:

The Alzheimer's Association is seeking Team Captains for our 15th Annual Bankers Life Forget Me Not Days fundraiser! Gather a team of family, friends and coworkers to collect donations outside a local Jewel-Osco store. In exchange for donations, volunteers will hand out packets of Forget Me Not flower seeds to honor the more than five million Americans living with Alzheimer's disease today.

Team Captain Responsibilities:

  • Recruit friends, family, coworkers, and local community groups to fill time slots over the event weekend. Consider recruiting enough people to work in 2 hour shifts. Volunteers under the age of 18 will need parental permission to participate and all volunteers must sign a liability waiver provided by the chapter.
  • Attend the Team Captain Kick Off to collect your team’s materials
  • Greet your team members on the first shift to distribute supplies for the day
  • Oversee your site for most of the day, staying in communication with volunteers and ensuring full coverage
  • Research areas with heavy pedestrian traffic and other locations for maximum fundraising potential. Storefronts and safe, bustling intersections are best! You may choose your site or ask ALZ staff for an assignment
  • Collect your team’s funds at the end of the day and attend our Bank Night event to return event materials and submit collected donations
