The Partnership for The Homeless' Economic Opportunities Program (EOP) is seeking a volunteer to teach a Microsoft Power Point workshop for our mentees. Candidates who can also use Prezi software are preferred. The volunteer will provide in-class instruction/lecture and hands on training. The workshop will be held on Thursday, May 4th from 6pm-8pm. The goal of this workshop is to teach our mentees the skills they need to create presentations. Each mentee wil deliver a presentation for the program in July of this year.
The Economic Opportunities Program (EOP) at The Partnership for the Homeless is designed to help formerly homeless mothers who are currently unemployed or underemployed find and maintain full-time, sustainable employment as a core part of the road to self-sufficiency. The program prepares clients to find employment, increase their knowledge of financial education concepts, and navigate their career with the help of EOP staff and its network of volunteers.
The Partnership for the Homeless was founded in 1983 as a response to the growing homelessness in New York City. Our work with individuals and families who are homeless is based on the principle that housing is the anchor for stability, wellness, and independence. These can truly be recovered only once a family is back in stable housing-or more to the point, in a home-and is once again connected to the surrounding neighborhood. Our goal is to move homeless individuals and families rapidly into housing, and provide them with wraparound services that will help them quickly to become integrated members of the community.
