Come volunteer at IMPACTO!

IMPACTO is a nonprofit after school organization, located in the Boyle Heights community of East Los Angeles that serves 180 children K-12. We are looking for optimistic and enthusiastic volunteers who can offer at least 1 hour of service each week between the hours of 3:00pm and 6:00pm, M-F.

Volunteers should be people who are genuinely looking to make a positive change in a child's life. We are looking for people to:

(1) help with homework as a tutor
(2) be an extra set of eyes to watch the children
(3) lead an enrichment activity one day a week for a month or so (Painting, Writing, Drawing, Math, Science, and everything in between)

This is a great way to give back.

Mission Statement

"To motivate and inspire youth of Boyle Heights to develop as leaders in the pursuit of education. We strive to empower youth to ensure growth in our community through involvement and social awareness. Description

IMPACTO is part of Proyecto Pastoral, an organization established in the predominantly Latino, low-income area of Boyle Heights. IMPACTO is the after-school program component, offering assistance at two different sites for grades K-12. We offer homework assistance and tutoring to our youth, as well as enrichment activities like art club, guitar lessons, track team, book club, story time, and many other extracurricular options. Additionally, we offer field trips at least once a semester and during our summer program. Parents and families are incorporated into our program as well, with parent meetings and workshops on topics such as local resources, ways to be economically aware, and nutritional choices for feeding a family.
