UNPAID INTERNSHIP - ACCOUNTING/OPERATIONS

Primary Function

The Accounting Internship is an unpaid position and works with the Division Executive Director to assist with managing the division’s accounting functions to ensure smooth and accurate office operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to gain real life accounting/office manager experience. ALF seeks a 1 year commitment. Approximate time would be 4-6 hours per week, with flexibility on the day selected.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform deposits, to include completion of deposit summary forms with appropriate coding.
  • Submit division monthly credit card reimbursement form with appropriate coding.
  • Code and submit invoices for processing.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of financials prepared by national office against submitted invoices/deposits.
  • Prepare quarterly forecast reports to national office.
  • Prepares tax receipt letters to foundation donors.
  • Other tasks/projects, as assigned

Related Skills or Knowledge

  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of QuickBooks
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and committed to excellence of work
  • Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced work environment

With nearly 10 support groups throughout our region, an extensive education program and fundraising events, the Pacific Coast Division is dedicated to educating the public about liver disease and helping those affected by liver disease.
