We’re seeking an Azure Administrator with proven business acumen and deep cloud technology skills. In this role, you will responsible for the solutioning and implementation of Cloud engagements.


Responsibilities:

  • As the Azure Subject Matter Expert, you will work with the I.T. team to perform daily support, configuration, implementation and maintenance of Azure & MS Office 365

  • Implementation and administration of AWS RDS - MySQL & Postgres, Redshift and other standalone databases

  • Manage extracting, loading and transforming data in and out of various data assets

  • Cluster maintenance including administrating, monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting

  • Provide consistent database maintenance, optimization and best practices inputs to existing NoSQL and SQL databases and applications

  • Articulate and implement best practices around NoSQL and SQL based heterogeneous

  • Experience in capacity planning, cluster designing and deployment, troubleshooting and tuning the databases

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

  • 7+ years of overall relevant IT experience

  • 2+ years demonstrated experience on the Azure platform, performing administration and supporting design for highly available and resilient solutions.

  • 3+ years of work experience with AWS RDS - MySQL, Postgres

Description

Rare Genomics Institute (RGI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping rare disease
patients find a diagnosis, treatment, and pathway to a cure. Through personalized research
projects, RGI provides access to world leading medical institutions and scientists to conduct
genomic sequencing, coordinates with clinicians and counselors to interpret findings, and offers an
online crowd-funding platform to deliver financial solutions. RGI also supports rare disease
advocacy by fostering an online community of rare disease patients and supporting rare disease
research through a yearly grant competition.

Since being founded in 2011, RGI has completed over 300 genetic sequencing and analysis
projects, assisted patients fund over $3.5 million worth of genomic sequencing, discovered 8
unique genetic mutations in-house, given over $2 million dollars in grants to researchers on rare
disease, and developed an online community with over 10,000 rare disease members.
Through volunteers, RGI is able to slowly push science and health care forward to meet the needs
