Centro Comunitario CEUS is looking for someone to teach literacy in Spanish to native Spanish speakers who cannot read and write in their own language. We are a non-profit 501c3 community organization that helps immigrants and refugees and we have for 15 years offered Spanish literacy classes to community members who did not have the opportunity to learn to read and write in their own country. Fluency in Spanish is important, but past experience is not necessary. More important is great patience, empathy for the students' situation and a commitment to do what it takes to teach the students the language basics. We provide a curriculum and a book to follow. Most students are adults, and some are later in life. The class is Level 1/2 Spanish Literacy, for people who have very little ability to read and write.
