Produce Sorting

Volunteer Description:

A group of volunteers are needed to sort produce that is delivered to Yolo Food Bank every Monday morning at 9:30 am. Volunteers will need to perform quality control of all the produce that arrives in order to ensure that the produce is safe to distribute throughout Yolo County.

The Bigger Picture:

The produce that is sorted and counted by volunteers is distributed throughout Yolo County every week. Produce is distributed through Kids Farmers Market and Eat Well Yolo. Each of the previously mentioned programs are geared towards providing residents regular access to healthy food alternatives like: fruits, vegetables and bread.

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Able to lift 20-50 pounds
  • Knowledge of produce

Hours:

  • Monday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm
