Women In Comedy is a fun and positive organization helping to achieve gender equality for women's voices in the comedy industry.

If you have a passion for gender parity and you like to laugh, come be part of a fun committee to help plan 3 key events for women in the industry (August, December, February). No professional comedy experience needed. All are welcome to volunteer with us - including female identifying persons, and men!


THE EXPERIENCE FOR YOU

This committee member role is a resume builder and a wonderful opportunity for someone with skills in the areas listed below - or someone looking to gain new experience and skills in the realm of event planning for a non profit. Our committee is a diverse group of fun women who are working in tandem with our chapter cities across the nation (Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Indianapolis, Washington D.C.) to create 3 key events per year- These are in person events to support women in the comedy industry.


SKILLS DESIRED

Outgoing/Extrovert

Experience in Sales/Marketing a Plus!

Ability to build community and create strategic and long lasting community relationships and partners

Comfort with outreaching to companies and organizations who want to be part of sponsoring our fun events with venues or other awesome support for women in comedy.


TIME COMMITMENTS

This volunteer role requires 5-10 hours per week. 2 hours per week will be dedicated to in person weekly meetings with the committee. The remainder of the hours can be spent at your leisure so long as tasks are completed on time.


ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Chapter Head of Community Partnerships & Sponsorships is a part time volunteer position responsible to carry out our mission statement to empower, connect, and advocate for women and girls seeking paid careers in comedy. The Head of Community Partnerships & Sponsorships is the head coordinator and responsible for helping secure all venues and other partnerships/ possible sponsorships within our local community for our 3 key events each year (put on in sister cities across the nation in Winter, Spring/Summer, Fall).
