Speak Chinese? Enjoy technology? Want to give back in your community? Seniors living in affordable housing want to learn how to use their technology! They have very little to no knowledge of how to operate and navigate a computer, a tablet and/or a smart phone. They have a strong desire and need to learn. Help these seniors operate their technology so that they can communicate with family and friends!
You would be teaching them the basics of how to know if they are signed into WiFi, how to send text messages, how to create an email account and send emails. They also want to know how to surf the Web and use apps on their tablets.
Our residents speak a mix of langages. The main ones are Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Russian, Farsi, and Spanish in addition to English. Being multilingual is a plus!

Description
The purpose of the SAHA's Volunteer Program is to improve the quality of living and promote health and well-being for Satellite Housing's residents. Volunteers will help foster community by facilitating activities for the residents, such as exercise groups, art classes, discussion groups, providing health and wellness information, leading or participating in games, assisting with special events, etc. The residents really appreciate the effort that is put forth by the volunteers, and look forward to the weekly interactions.
