Mission Statement

Athena’s Warehouse is a nonprofit dedicated to educating and empowering underserved teen girls in the Atlanta community.

Description

We run after-school programs to educate and empower underserved girls in the Atlanta area. Below is a description of three major programs we provide our girls for the academic calendar year.

"Be Awesome Be Aware" is an educational awareness program for high school senior girls.

Taught by trained professionals, the program is divided into workshops that address key teen topics (healthy eating, positive body image, teen pregnancy/STD prevention, domestic violence, and career prep). At the end of the program, students are awarded scholarships based on attendance, participation, and an essay.

The Inner Me series is grounded in youth development and fosters self-reflection and resiliency through yoga principals learned on the mat.

Led by a certified yoga, the trauma-informed program is designed to develop a strong sense of personal development and self-awareness. Students spend 9 weeks to foster healthier minds, bodies, and self-esteem through a combination of journaling and yoga practice.

We build healthy and confident community leaders through our mentoring program.

We match girls with strong young professional women in the community for 1:1 mentoring. For 16 weeks, girls and mentors meet under facilitated, structured curriculum. We explore healthy peer-to-peer relationships, conflict resolution and social justice.
