The WITS Early Childhood Summer Program (ECSP) is a kindergarten readiness program that takes place from 9:00am-11:30am, Monday-Thursday, from July 9-August 9, 2018.
The program, led by a CPS teacher and a WITS staff member, prepares incoming Kindergarteners for school by teaching letter names and letter sounds, developmental writing skills, and reading behaviors. Each week, the staff uses a different fairy tale as a fun way to practice these skills and engage with stories.
Volunteers are asked to make a minimum commitment of one day per week but are welcome to volunteer on multiple days.
If you are interested in becoming an ECSP volunteer, please apply through VolunteerMatch, and we will add you to our prospective volunteer list. We are currently confirming summer sites with our CPS partner schools and will send you a list of locations once they are set.
