Take Part in Hands On Charlotte Day
Saturday, April 29, 2017
Join HOC as we celebrate volunteerism, community engagement and civic activation in our city by getting our hands dirty and doing GOOD at Hands On Charlotte Day!
There is no better way to feel the impact of your effort than to volunteer right where needs are being served daily. Grab friends, family, and coworkers and lend a helping hand with diverse projects across the city - from sorting food at the Second Harvest Food Bank or assisting with educational programs at the Nature Museum to a family friendly project at East Mecklenburg High School.
This year, Hands On Charlotte Day marks the final day of a week-long celebration of volunteering in Charlotte called DO GOOD Week, a collaboration between HOC and SHARE Charlotte and powered by Duke Energy. Intentionally timed to coincide with National Volunteer Week (April 23 - 29) DO GOOD Week will rally our community to come together to volunteer time and talent.
This is a free event but all volunteers will need to register.

Description
Throughout the year, Hands On Charlotte (a program of United Way of Central Carolinas) provides direct volunteer service to the community. We help homeless families, guide at-risk youth, tutor disadvantaged children, feed the hungry, care for our environment and so much more. Our volunteers address our community's needs through direct service. Hands On Charlotte offers a variety of meaningful volunteer projects that benefits the citizens of Charlotte. We provide volunteers with flexible volunteer opportunities to create positive change. We simplify the process by organizing and promoting dozens of opportunities each month.
