ORGANIZATION: Community Health Resources (CHR)

CHR's 1 in 5

Community Health Resources (CHR) is hosting a 1 mile fun walk and 5K road race for Mental Health Awareness Month to support CHR’s vital programs and services. The event will begin at Great River Park in East Hartford.

We are looking for volunteers with (some) event experience to help us run our event. Below are the following openings:

Registration table - 6 volunteers needed to help check-in race participants, hand out t-shirts and register participants signing up the day of. We need your help from: 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.

Refreshments table - 2 volunteers needed to help set up the breakfast and coffee station, cut bagels, help pour coffee and juice then break the station down once the race starts. We need your help from: 7:30 a.m. - 10 a.m.

Yoga Instructor - 1 volunteer needed to help lead two 30 minute post-race, gentle yoga sessions. One session for the runners would start at 11 a.m. and the second session for the walkers and our clients would start at 11:45 a.m. Timing may change for the second session.

Water stations - 8 volunteers to help set up the water station, hand out water to participants after they cross the finish line, and provide course support (cheering on our participants).

We need your help from: 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Directional - 8 volunteers to help mark different points of the course and provide course support (cheering and holding signs of support) to ensure our participants don’t get lost and have an enjoyable time.

We need your help from: ~9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Parking - 2 volunteers needed during the morning to help participants park their vehicles.

We need your help from: 7:45 a.m. - 10 a.m.

Massage Therapists - we are hoping to find a (or a few) licensed or student massage therapists willing to donate their time after the race. This would be a promotional opportunity with tax deductible benefits! We need your help from: 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Face painters - we are hoping to find a (or a few) talented face painters to paint faces of participants after the race. We need your help from: 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
