Summer is the time for kids to get up, get out and grow. But for some kids, exposure to activities that stimulate the body and mind ends with the school year. In fact, research shows that kids are prone to gain weight and fall behind in studies. On April 30th, the Y will celebrate Healthy Kids Day (r) , our national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids.
We have opportunities to volunteer in the following areas:
- Managing the registration table
- Assisting with Arts & crafts
- Helping distribute snacks
- Taking pictures for our marketing team
- Monitoring the moon bounce monitor
- Set-up and Breakdown of event
- Facilitating fitness activities
- Assisting with odd jobs face painting

Operate at hundreds of Y sites and community locations throughout Central Maryland we impact hundreds of thousands of community members. Through grant funded programs and Y Financial Assistance scholarships made possible through generous community donations, thousands of youth who are financially vulnerable and their families are given the same fair chance to thrive in school and in life that each of us needs and deserves.
