GROCERY/ERRAND SHOPPER ARE ALWAYS IN DEMAND! We have a waitlist of folks needing Shopping support!
Close your eyes. Imagine how you would shop for groceries or run errands if you lost your vision. You can help people who are blind or visually impaired maintain their independence. Become a Volunteer Shopper! As a Volunteer Shopper, you will provide a client transportation to grocery or other stores and help select items.
This is an easy way to make a big difference. Scheduling is flexible. Mileage reimbursement is available. We work with clients throughout the Twin Cities Metro area, so we'll work with you to find a client in your area. Time commitment is approximately 2-4 hours per month. You can volunteer with a friend or your group can "adopt" a client. Small groups of 2 or rotating members of a group would be a great fit for this opportunity, as well.
We offer our volunteers mileage reimbursement (set amount per mile) for each mile you drive with our participants. Inquire for more details!
Volunteers must be over the age of 18 or accompanied by someone over the age of 18 and meet our insurance guidelines. Orientation, training, and on-going support are provided.
