PROGRAMS COMMITTEE ~ VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES

The Program Committee curates and streamlines the programming efforts related to social enterprise in the San Francisco Bay Area. The committee curates and generates content in 3 areas: collaboration, supporting and promoting emerging Social Entrepreneurs, and highlighting innovation and best practices in Social Enterprise. SEA/SFBay programs give leaders across sectors an opportunity to share and learn perspectives with one another.

Committee members are a combination of social enterprise practitioners and event organizers across sectors. Preferred Committee Members have:

o Access to broad and engaged network - sector-specific, or SE-related.

o Available 2-5 hours/month to assist with event planning and/or day of the event

o Availability to assist with at least two events per year, in addition to committee meetings

Committee members are responsible for:

o Seeking and fostering collaborations for shared programming among committee organizations

o Collecting and sharing information about local activities relevant to Social Enterprise

o Designing and planning content for events and activities

o Attend two committee meetings in March/April and quarterly thereafter (2 hours, food/drink provided, Downtown San Francisco or Oakland)

o Widely promoting our local activities

o Constantly encouraging other leaders to join SEA/SFBay

The above activities, when divided among several members of the Committee, should require no more than 2-5 hours/month of each person’s volunteer time.

Benefits of volunteering:

o Support Social Enterprise in the Bay Area by providing rich, informative programming to the community

o Join a large network of those with similar values, where you’ll be able to connect and receive the resources you need

o Gain further skills in event production and networking

o Upon successful project completion, the option to request a LinkedIn recommendation from the Committee Chair
