About

Join the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by volunteering at our Washington Township Great Strides walk! Cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects the respiratory and digestive systems of approximately 30,000 children and adults in the United States. It is estimated that more than 10 million Americans are unknowing, symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene.

Great Strides is our signature walk event for the Foundation, providing a great opportunity for people within the community to get involved in a meaningful cause. Participants can form walk teams at their workplace, through their clubs and organizations, or with friends and family. Walk day is a fun, family-oriented event with a healthy 5k walk, children's activities, food, and festivities that participants look forward to year after year.

Through the CF Foundation’s efforts and events like Great Strides, as well as the support of generous donors and dedicated volunteers, the life expectancy of a child with CF has doubled in the last 30 years. Today, the search to find a cure is more promising than ever before.

We are in need of volunteers for the day of the event to help the program run smoothly. Volunteers will help with a variety of tasks such as set up, running registration, distribution of t-shirts, serving of food and beverages, overseeing the children’s fun zone area, manning the walk route as cheerleaders, and cleaning up from the event. We welcome volunteers of all ages and from all walks of life. If you have any questions, please reach out to Stephanie at sbello@cff.org. Thank you for your support!
