We need energetic volunteers to make the Eagle Festival a success! More than 2,000 people will come for animal shows, conservation, photography and natural history talks, activities by dozens of environmental organizations, pony rides, hay rides, the Eagle Cam, live music and food. You can help us:
* Be a frog, owl, raccoon or eagle. We provide the costumes. You walk around and interact with the festival guests.
* Be a handler of a costumed animal-person and explain the animal’s role in the park.
* Talk with people about bald eagles while they watch eaglets on the Eagle Cam. We will give you the information you need.
* Direct the multitude of cars in and out of the parking lot.

Mission Statement
The purpose of the Friends of Mason Neck State Park is to act as a support organization assisting in identifying and promoting activities to conserve, enhance and interpret the natural, educational, recreational, cultural, and historic resources of Mason Neck State Park
Description
The Friends of Mason Neck State Park is a separate entity from the Park. It is composed of persons who are interested in the opportunities that the Park has to offer and who help to support the Park by volunteering to assist in Park activities. Volunteers provide help during periodic cleanups and major Park functions such as the annual Eagle Festival; they monitor and maintain hiking trails and wildlife; and plan and implement programs that highlight aspects of the Park for the general population.
