Gia Allemand Foundation is seeking a Membership Intern for Spring/Summer 2017!
Gia Allemand Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization advocating for the prevention, treatment, and research of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). Our mission is to provide women with the education, support, resources, and tools necessary to live healthy lives, reduce interpersonal conflict, and eliminate self-harm.
About the position
Membership Coordinator Intern will work directly with the Executive Director and Marketing Director to develop and execute aspects of the Gia Allemand Foundation membership program. Elements of the program include enrollment, renewal, and retention.
Membership Coordinator Intern will gain firsthand knowledge about the infrastructure of a rapidly growing nonprofit organization, constituent and member needs, and the process of enhancing community support for women in need.
This internship provides opportunities to gain professional development and valuable experience in marketing, communications, outreach, networking and event planning in the non-profit sector.
Responsibilities
- Regularly engage with current and potential members
- Maintain GAF's online membership databases and website
- Provide technical assistance to members
- Assist with event coordination, planning, and logistics
- Represent Gia Allemand Foundation online and in the community
- Perform all other administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
Prospective candidates should be undergraduate or graduate students who are passionate about women's mental and reproductive health. Ideal candidates are self-starters, organized, entrepreneurial, comfortable using databases and managing websites (or are willing to learn), have excellent communication skills, enjoy networking, and are friendly and upbeat.

Start Date: April 2017, or as soon as possible
Commitment: 8 hours per week at GAF's offices in Denver for a minimum of 2 months, followed by 1-2 months in a virtual setting
Compensation: This internship is unpaid. For off-site events, we can reimbursement travel costs.
