Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Brownwood Public Library

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

We are looking for therapy dog/handler teams in Brown County and surrounding communities. Libraries across the country offer "Read to a Dog" programs. Reluctant readers often feel comfortable reading out load to a dog where they wouldn’t in a classroom setting, thus strengthening their reading skills and bolstering their confidence.

This is a new program we are hoping to start at the library. We just need the dogs and handlers to participate! If you are interested, we will work with you to establish a regular schedule.

Please Note: All dogs must be currently certified as a therapy animal by one of the following organizations:

  • Alliance of Therapy Dogs
  • Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs
