Please visit the new page to apply.
Join Sam’s Point Area of Minnewaska State Park Preserve in celebrating National Trails Day on June 3! We will be working on restoring the tread on one of our most popular attractions - the Ice Caves! Work will include building bog bridges, using gravel to reinforce trail tread, and clipping overhanging vegetation. Volunteers will meet at Sam’s Point Visitor Center at 9AM and the workday will last until 2PM. All necessary training and tools will be provided. Please make sure to bring enough water to last the day (at least 2 liters), long pants and long sleeves, sturdy work boots, snacks and a lunch.
After the work day is over please feel free to continue to celebrate National Trials Day by hiking our wonderful trails! Check in with the Visitor Center to see which trails are open.
