The Central Texas Congenital Heart Walk is on May 6th. Volunteers are need to help with set up, registration, water and food stations, kid’s activities, first aid, raffle tickets, cheering walkers along the route, and more. Timeline for volunteer arrival is:
- 6:45am - Set Up Crew
- 7:30am - Registration, Water and Food Stations , Kid's Activities, Raffle Tickets Crews, Cheering Team, and other volunteer teams
- 12:00pm - Finish
The Congenital Heart Walk shows the nation how a team of inspired individuals can join together to make a difference. Funds raised will support the missions of both national nonprofit organizations who are uniting to fight CHD! Since 2010, CHW has raised more than $8 million in total.

The goal of The Children’s Heart Foundation is to bring health, hope and happiness to children impacted by congenital heart defects, the number one birth defect in the United States. We accomplish this goal by funding the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital heart defects.
Description
In the United States, a child is born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) every 15 minutes. Children undergo surgeries and sadly, some die every day from CHDs.
We need to understand what causes CHDs and to prevent them. We need to detect and diagnose CHDs as early as possible. While much progress has been made, we need to develop new treatments for CHDs so that children undergo fewer invasive surgeries and improve the long-term prognosis for children with CHDs.
We need your support to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of CHDs in children.
