People Lead (Recruitment)

People are critical to the mission of the American Cancer Society. The People Lead manages the People and Recruiting team, who essentially act as the face of the organization. The Lead is responsible for recruiting and managing the volunteers who serve the organization and who make our efforts possible. The Lead will manage a team of ambassadors, a group of people that include volunteers and cancer survivors.

Responsibilities include:

• Recruiting new (and retaining previous) fundraising teams, volunteers, and survivors
• Outreach to the community to get people to our event and help raise money and awareness for the cause
• Help lead occasional meetings to touch base and connect with teammates
• Help recruit volunteers on an as-needed basis who are passionate about the mission of the American Cancer Society
• Provide fundraising and business development ideas
• Report to the Events Lead Specialist and Community Manager

The four groups within the team are:

- Recruitment and engagement

- Community champion

- Team ambassadors

- Survivors and caregivers
