ORGANIZATION: Best Buddies International

Everyone needs a friend. Someone to laugh with, go with to an Orioles game, or just hang out with and talk about your day. You choose the activities you would like to do -- new experiences or activities you would typically do during your free time, but with a new friend through Best Buddies!

Our program fosters a unique experience -- we pair up individuals, one person with an intellectual or developmental disability to another without a disability, in a one-to-one friendship. You can help foster someone's self-esteem and make a difference by being your true authentic self, just by being a friend. For many people with IDD, it is difficult to meet new people and make friends with those outside their circle of friends and family. You may be one person, but to your Buddy, you make a life lasting impact.
