Heart of Hospice is looking for Veterans throughout the Greater New Orleans area to volunteer with fellow Veterans who are hospice patients. We believe that offering time and a shared experience is wonderful way to connect with these special patients helping them to find peace and companionship. Heart of Hospice conducts special pinning ceremonies to honor those on our service, or their caregivers, who have served their Country and would love to have Veteran volunteers participate in these celebratory events!

We believe that all hospice-eligible patients and those who love them deserve the best care at the end of life. Our mission is to serve all of them in the way they desire to be served.

Description

Do you have a heart for hospice care? We know you do. Volunteering with Heart of Hospice is simple and rewarding. Our patients appreciate every minute of time that is donated to them whether through visits, cards, phone calls or gifts. All volunteers receive free orientation and on-going training. Volunteers are assigned to patients according to their location to keep travel to a minimum. There is no minimum number of hours required per month. All initial visits with patients are made along side a Volunteer Coordinator who can guide you through your first meeting. Heart of Hospice has a need for all types of volunteers.
