SOAR Fox Cities is a non-profit organization located in Appleton, WI. We are dedicated to empowering people with developmental disabilities. We are looking for an arts & crafts leader to plan, direct, and supervise the arts and craft program for our annual SOAR Camp Onaway, a five-day camp experience designed for youth and adults with developmental disabilities. Arts & Craft Leader - Desired Qualifications: - Abiliity to set up program and to teach skills to staff and campers - Desire and ability to work with children and adults with special needs - Ability and experience in supervising staff and campers - Mature, responsible individual - Previous camp staff experience Specific Responsibilities:
- If time allows, develop a list of supplies needed for the season
- Attend the counselor orientation meeting prior to camp
- Teach and monitor proper use of equipment
- Following each session, make sure equipment is in proper working condition and area is cleaned up
- Conduct end of season inventory and make recommendations for the following season
- Assist in overall camp activities
- Assist in the packing of supplies and equipment
- Ensure the health and safety of all campers
- Some duties may be assigned or reassigned as required.
