ORGANIZATION: SOAR Fox Cities

SOAR Fox Cities is a non-profit organization located in Appleton, WI. We are dedicated to empowering people with developmental disabilities. We are looking for an arts & crafts leader to plan, direct, and supervise the arts and craft program for our annual SOAR Camp Onaway, a five-day camp experience designed for youth and adults with developmental disabilities. Arts & Craft Leader - Desired Qualifications: - Abiliity to set up program and to teach skills to staff and campers - Desire and ability to work with children and adults with special needs - Ability and experience in supervising staff and campers - Mature, responsible individual - Previous camp staff experience Specific Responsibilities:

  1. If time allows, develop a list of supplies needed for the season
  2. Attend the counselor orientation meeting prior to camp
  3. Teach and monitor proper use of equipment
  4. Following each session, make sure equipment is in proper working condition and area is cleaned up
  5. Conduct end of season inventory and make recommendations for the following season
  6. Assist in overall camp activities
  7. Assist in the packing of supplies and equipment
  8. Ensure the health and safety of all campers
  9. Some duties may be assigned or reassigned as required.
Essential Function: Must be able to plan and conduct activities. Effectively communicate and work with groups and provide necessary instruction to campers and/or staff; identify and respond to hazards.
