The American Kidney Fund provides free health screenings and educational presentations to the Washington, DC community in an effort to decrease the rates of kidney disease and kidney failure.
We rely on the help of volunteers to make this possible, and we hope to have your support in our early May screening at a community health and fitness fair! Volunteers are needed to help with our blood pressure screening process and at our health counseling station.
If interested, please contact Juanita Rogers at jrogers@kidneyfund.org

Mission Statement
To help people fight kidney disease and live healthier lives. We achieve our mission by providing financial support to patients in need, and by delivering programs that educate, build awareness, and drive advocacy, resulting in greater public understanding and ultimately the prevention of kidney disease.
Description
The American Kidney Fund was founded in 1971 to save the life of one person who needed help paying for dialysis. Thirty-seven years later, AKF has become the leading source of direct, treatment-related financial assistance to people in the United States who are living with chronic kidney disease. In 2007, AKF helped 68,000 patients, distributing over $100 million in treatment-related grants.
