About

About: Second Harvest Food Bank of Central FL

"Food for today, and for tomorrow" is Second Harvest Food Bank’s main motto. Through the generosity of our community, SHFB is driven to close the gap of unmet need in Central Florida in a variety of effective ways. Their core program of distributing tens of millions of meals per year for the clients of more than 550 local nonprofit feeding programs continues to have a growing impact.

Our efficient programs are aimed at helping the most vulnerable people, such as seniors and children. They also work to shorten the line of people in need by creating self-sustaining opportunities through our culinary and warehouse training programs.

Volunteers for Community (VCI) Impact is an organization that helps engage people in meaningful volunteer opportunities through out Central Florida. VCI partners with organizations, such as, Second Harvest Food Bank by providing them with quality volunteers. They recruit volunteers of all ages and would like to invite you to make a difference with them.

VCI’s part in this opportunity is to provide volunteers with a (free!) comprehensive benefits package-CIMA Supplemental insurance, a Life Insurance benefit, free workshops and more! Call your RSVP Coordinator, Michelle Caibio, for more information: 407-298-4180

RSVP, a part of SeniorCorps, is America's largest volunteer network for people 55 and over, with more than 300,000 volunteers tackling tough issues in communities nationwide. RSVP shows you how you can apply the skills and wisdom you've acquired throughout your life to make a positive difference in the lives of others. RSVP is federally funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
