Lend a hand, give your time and join us to help beautify and clean up a rain garden that needs a little love and attention. We bring the music, refreshments, and tools; you bring the energy and desire to make a difference and together we make a beautiful parknership!
Veterans Memorial Park Ice Arena Rain Garden and Park Cleanup Workday
Tuesday, Oct. 3, 10 a.m.-noon
Meet at the entrance to the ice arena. Help weed a newly replanted rain garden. This rain garden was replanted to have low-growing plants below tall sycamore trees and shorter redbud trees. We need your help in weeding around these new plants. Learn about rain gardens and how to identify weeds. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring a water bottle and dress for the weather. We will provide tools, gloves, water and expertise.
