Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum (MKIM)
VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS
- Interpreting museum artifacts
- Leading tomorrow's historians on school group visits
- Helping to develop new exhibit experiences
- And much more!
These are just a few unique Museum Volunteer opportunities available at Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum! Our greatest need right now is for Museum Education Volunteers who will give guided tours and teach school programs to groups. We offer grade-appropriate, interactive, and standards-based activities. Museum Education Volunteers will learn about the natural resources and cultural cooperation that Northeastern Woodland Indians used in their daily activities. Volunteers will interact with our visitors and school groups to provide though-provoking essential questions and discussions about the culture of the Native peoples. Volunteers will learn how these tours and programs correlate to the New Hampshire Curriculum Frameworks standards.
We look forward to seeing you at the museum!
Our people are our greatest asset at Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum, from our staff to our dedicated volunteers. Museum volunteers play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the museum. From interpreters leading guided tours of the exhibit galleries for school children and visitors, to the many volunteers who help us keep our grounds clean and our events well-staffed, the museum has a place for everyone, whatever your interest. If you are interested in volunteering at the museum, MKIM is also looking for volunteers to help in:
- Research and Collections
- Museum Store
- Administrative Support
- Buildings & Grounds Support
- Event Support
To talk to someone about volunteering at the museum, please call Julia Bender, Volunteer Coordinator, at 603-456-2600 or email volunteer@indianmuseum.org
