Passionate about girl power? Chronic illness care? Children? All of the above?
We are currently recruiting camp counselors for our 2017 year. We are a camp for girls 7-17 who have a bleeding disorder, carry the gene for a bleeding disorder, or, as space permits, have a sibling with a bleeding disorder. We have a strong emphasis on finding your power as a woman, and your potential as a human, regardless of chronic illness. Camp counselors (male and female) would either be assigned to a cabin of girls, or if they're more interested in a different role, we have opportunities to lead activities and be a support staff. This would be a week-long, sleep-at-camp opportunity. Camp begins on 7/23, with a mandatory training taking place on 7/22. Camp would end 7/29. Food and board are included in this volunteer opportunity.
What do you get?
Experience with children (with medical needs)
Exposure to medical needs
The joy of working with our vivacious campers
Resume-building--healthcare and social service programs like to see exposure to what you could be working with
Letters of recommendation happily provided to former volunteers
More opportunities with CAMP LITTLE OAK
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
