ORGANIZATION: Alzheimer's Association Greater Missouri Chapter

Help raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease and related disorders and the free programs and services available to caregivers and those living with a diagnosis. Community Representatives help the Association be represented at community events and health fairs where the community gathers.

An orientation to the Association and the disease is provided along with a toolkit of information. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being a connector between the community and vital services.

The schedule for this volunteer role is flexible - you RSVP for opportunities that make sense for your schedule and geogrphic location.

Our Mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Description

We are the primary community resource for Alzheimers disease and related disorders through family services, education, public policy and research. We serve 96 counties in Illinois and Missouri, Skilled volunteers join professional staff to participate at every level of service from office support to public speaking to leadership and more. The associations success and growth are due to the dedication nearly 1,000 volunteers, including students and interns.
