ORGANIZATION: Alzheimer's Association Greater Missouri Chapter

Help raise awareness about Alzheimer's and other dementia related disorders by offering your time and talent as a community educator. Educators learn Alzheimer's curriculum and present it to community groups.

Educators are asked to offer to present at least 6 times each year to a group near their home. Requests for presentations are handled by the volunteer supervisor and communicated to the team of volunteer Educators. Training, supplies, and ongoing support are provided.

Our Mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Description

We are the primary community resource for Alzheimers disease and related disorders through family services, education, public policy and research. We serve 96 counties in Illinois and Missouri, Skilled volunteers join professional staff to participate at every level of service from office support to public speaking to leadership and more. The associations success and growth are due to the dedication nearly 1,000 volunteers, including students and interns.
