Volunteers are critical to making the Imagine Gala & Auction a success. This annual event raises over $500,000 for permanent, affordable housing and services on the Eastside. The 2018 event will be on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue. All volunteers receive dinner and breaks.We have many positions available at this year’s auction including:Registration and Cashiering: These are the first and last faces our Auction guests see. This team works to check everyone in, enter sales data throughout the night, and check people out at the end of the evening. This integral group ensures everyone feels welcome, pays, and goes home with their items. Raffle Tickets: The most outgoing role at the Auction! Working in pairs, raffle volunteers will move throughout the Silent Auction selling raffle tickets for $50 to give guests a chance to win a trip or another great prize. Volunteers must be 18+. Item Redemption: After the Silent Auctions close, these volunteers work to rearrange items and set up the Auction retrieval area to assist guests with finding their items at checkout. Lots of standing and lifting is needed, as well as a strong attention to detail. Dessert Frenzy: These volunteers track and tag which dessert gets sold to which table and mark the dessert before turning it over to the Meydenbauer staff. High-energy, fast-moving role! Live Auction and Cashiering Runners: During the Live Auction, runners will take the completed bid sheet to the winning bidder for a signature, before taking it back to the cashiering station. This role will have you up and moving for most of the night and is a great way to get your 10,000 steps in! Wine Shop: Sell wine and beer to thirsty guests during the reception and dinner. Volunteers must be 21+. Spotters: Outgoing and energetic volunteers needed to support our auctioneer! Spot the bids and encourage guest participation. You’ll be on your feet throughout the Live Auction, helping the auctioneer to see all corners of the room. Silent Auction Bidding Support: This team will be stationed throughout the Silent Auction reception area with tablets to assist bidders who need help with mobile bidding. You will receive training on the mobile bidding website. This is a people-facing, high-energy and busy role! Customer service skills are a plus.
PowerPoint Director: You will run the PowerPoint presentation throughout the Live Auction. Volunteer must have experience with PowerPoint and PCs.
Live Auction Recorders: Two recorders and a support volunteer will track bids, complete winning bid sheets, and maintain sales records throughout the Live Auction. This demanding but exciting role requires concentration, sharp ears and eyes, and neat handwriting!
Name Checker: This volunteer sits at the recording table and enters winning bidder numbers into a simple computer program as they are called out by the auctioneer, to display that winner’s name on an MC screen for acknowledgement.
