Volunteer Tutors are needed at various times throughout the day to help adults learn the literacy skills necessary for them to function more effectively in their lives and community. Scheduling is flexible, and we have a need for tutors at local libraries throughout the Peninsula.
- Basic Literacy tutors teach basic reading, writing, and/or math lessons to English-speaking adult students on a one-to-one basis.
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Tutors work with small groups of foreign-born adult students learning to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Short-term tutors for special short-term classes, such as job interview skills and financial literacy, are also needed.
