Alzheimer's is the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S. and one of the most feared diseases among seniors. Yet many communities lack important information about this terrible disease.
Help the Alzheimer's Association spread the word in YOUR community by volunteering as a Community Outreach Team Member. Staff a table at a local health fair or drop off materials to your local community center, healthcare providers, places of worship, and social clubs.
You may also have the opportunity to educate community members about the difference between normal aging and Alzheimer's, how to reduce one's risk of getting the disease, and the programs and services available to families and individuals coping with Alzheimer's.
The end of Alzheimer's starts with YOU!

Mission Statement
The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. Our vision, A world without Alzheimer's disease.
Description
We provide programs and support services for patients, families, caregivers, and others in the San Francisco Bay Area affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. Outside the federal government, the Alzheimer's Association is the largest research funder in the country and offers advocacy opportunities to make public policy change.
At the Alzheimer's Association, diversity and inclusion are vital to our mission. The Association leads strategic initiatives to support diversity and a culture of inclusivity. These strategic initiatives also strengthen outreach to all populations, providing communities with resources and support to address the Alzheimer’s crisis. By partnering with organizations locally and nationally to advance diversity and inclusion, the Association can broaden its reach in all communities.
