PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Disaster Assessment Team Leaders lead local teams of  event-based\" and current Red Cross volunteers to conduct disaster assessment of homes in an area impacted by disaster.

OPEN TIME DAYS

During a Disaster (\"Operational State\")

  • 1 to 4 days depending on extend of disaster impact
  • Typical start time is 7 or 8am;Typical end time is 5 or 6pm
  • Partial days may be possible
Day-to-Day (\"Steady State\")
  • About 8 hours of training (inperson and/or online)
  • Take part in at least two drills and exercises per year
  • Attend quarterly meetings/conference calls

REQUIRED TRAINING

Required

  • Disaster Cycle Services: An Overview (online or inperson)
  • Disaster Assessment Fundamentals(online or inperson)
  • Disaster Assessment Team Leader Workshop (inperson)
Optional
  • Disaster Frontline Supervisor (in-person)
  • Supporting Volunteers & Managing Teams (in-person)
