PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Disaster Assessment Team Leaders lead local teams of event-based\" and current Red Cross volunteers to conduct disaster assessment of homes in an area impacted by disaster.
OPEN TIME DAYS
During a Disaster (\"Operational State\")
- 1 to 4 days depending on extend of disaster impact
- Typical start time is 7 or 8am;Typical end time is 5 or 6pm
- Partial days may be possible
- About 8 hours of training (inperson and/or online)
- Take part in at least two drills and exercises per year
- Attend quarterly meetings/conference calls
Required
- Disaster Cycle Services: An Overview (online or inperson)
- Disaster Assessment Fundamentals(online or inperson)
- Disaster Assessment Team Leader Workshop (inperson)
- Disaster Frontline Supervisor (in-person)
- Supporting Volunteers & Managing Teams (in-person)
