Camp Connect occurs four weeks during June and July on Mondays-Fridays, from 9:00-1:00pm. Each week follows a di erent theme:

JUNE 19-23: TO INFINITY & BEYOND - Three, two, one...blast o ! Young astronauts will have a blast in our out-of-this-world summer camp. Imaginations will soar as we explore the solar system together. Each day your little space engineer will create one-of-a-kind art projects, explore planets, and make intergalactic music. Don’t let gravity hold you down.

JUNE 26-30: CHEF’S ACADEMY - Campers will be making snacks from simple ingredients into "creations" and enjoy eating them! Each camper will receive their own chef hat & apron to personalize and take home with them at the end of the week. If your child has any food allergies, please contact us regarding them prior to registering.

JULY 17-21: TEAM ADVENTURE - There is no "I" in team. Counselors will lead a vast array of team-oriented activities like Crack the Code, Tag Team drawing, Treasure hunt, and so much more! that promote social, group problem solving, and thinking exibly. Are you a exible thinker? If some Unthinkable(r) attacks will the Super ex(r) in you defeat them? Of course, you will!

JULY 24-28 UNTHINKABLE SCIENCE - We’ll explore the basics of science with some radical reactions! Want to know who stole the ice cream? Become a detective and use evidence and clues to catch the crook. After we’ve ngerprinted the felon with our own ngerprint kits, we’ll celebrate by making and eating our own ice cream! Crack codes and get crazy with science!

Volunteer spots are on a weekly basis. Volunteers can sign up for 1-4 weeks at a time.

About DEVELOPMENTAL CONNECTIONS

Location:

PO BOX 1281, ASHBURN, VA 20146, US

Mission Statement

Developmental Connections is committed to supporting schools and communities to ensure the healthy social development of students.

Description

Developmental Connections is a nonprofit organization designed to support children with developmental disorders (i.e., Aspergers, Autism, ADHD, Sensory Integration Disorder, etc). While a growing number of public and private resources provide support to these children for medical and academic concerns, the primary focus of Developmental Connections this year is to support a dangerously underfunded need -social skills development. Every year, thousands of socially impaired students graduate from high school with a diploma, but without the social ability to succeed in life. To fill this critical gap, we have launched Marvin's Club: Social Skills in Schools, a program to teach public school PTA/PTOs how to run social skills enrichment programs for their schools. Marvin's Club is designed to teach developmentally delayed students social and recreational skills while involving neurotypical peers and enhancing community awareness.
