ORGANIZATION: FamilyMeans

If your a Human Services Student, Social Work Student, Special Education Student, Nursing Student, ASL Student or Psycology Student and you would like to gain experience on your own or for an internship or Service Learning we have children who have a disabilty that would like to spend time with you, so their caregiver could get a break. You would not be doing any medical cares or daily living cares and would be there for companionship and supervision.

What would you do? Play, have fun, talk, listen, go for a walk, listen to music, watch a movie, do a creaft, play a game and many other fu things.

What would you gain? EXPERIENCE with disabilites, caregiving, diversity, direct support, indepenant learning, supervision and much more.


We have needs for children of all ages (up to age 18) who have a disability such as cognative delays, speech delays, Autism, Down Syndrome, Asbergers, Depression, Cerebral Palsy, Hearing Loss, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Deveopmental Delays, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, PTSD, Mood Disorder, Hydrocephalus and other disabilites.

Some matches are for 2 hours and some are for four hours, some are for once a week and some are for twice a month. Volunteers are needed for days, eveings and or weekends.
