Employment Orientation for Refugees

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Catholic Charities Atlanta

Once refugees arrive in the U.S. they often have no idea about the culture or lifestyle here. Catholic Charities helps refugees get a good understanding about the life in America, but there are still a few loose strings that need to be tied. Have the opportunity to meet newly arrived refugees and help them understand the employment process in America.

Refugees are usually from Congo, Syria, Bhutan, Burma, Iraq, or Afghanistan. They are located mostly in Clarkston, GA.

We need volunteers to help with the employment orientation at the Catholic Charities office in Atlanta.

This includes familiarizing refugees with the employment process, telling them about paystubs, taxes, work schedules, work hours, etc.

Volunteers must first undergo an orientation and submit to a background check provided by the agency.
