Salsa Des Moines is looking for a volunteer with a marketing background to serve on its Events & Marketing Committee. The ideal candidate will have experience in marketing and event promotion. Demonstrated skills in managing social media tools is required. The key objective of the position is to execute communication strategies regarding our programs, events, and activities.
The Events and Marketing Committee volunteer will: attend monthly committee meetings; conduct all communication aspects of the four major events per year; utilize social media, email, text and other tools to promote Salsa Des Moines' mission, programs, and events to members and the public.

Salsa Des Moines is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that offers the most comprehensive instructional program in salsa in the State of Iowa. We work in partnership with various community-based cultural diversity groups, the Des Moines Public Schools, entertainment and festival organizers, local non-profit organizations, wellness centers, assisted-living communities, and local businesses. We strive to build a better, more culturally-conscious and involved community in Des Moines.

We offer salsa dance instructions in all the salsa styles - ON1, ON2, Cuban Style, and the Salsa Rueda and organizes salsa dance and music events in Des Moines and Ames. We also provide dance instructions in other dances (Argentine Tango, West Coast Swing, Hustle, Cha Cha, and the ballroom dances).
